DELTA implements a scholarship program for young farmers for the 2nd consecutive year, providing 15 scholarships for technical management of the livestock unit with the American Farm School as the implementation body. The scholarships are offered under the “Gaia Project”, implemented by the company, for the support and the sustainable development of the primary sector, especially livestock farming, but also for the company’s long-term strategy of supporting and encouraging young people.

During the successful first training cycle of 2017, 14 young farmers were trained and attended professional seminars at the American Farm School in Thessaloniki aiming at providing a thorough technical education on good livestock and business practices.

The scholarship program is implemented with the same goal in 2018 and addresses itself to  DELTA’s partners farmers’ children working in the livestock business and who intend to gradually take it over and to improve its sustainability, as well as young people who wish to get involved in farming.

The education provider is the American Farm School, an independent, non-profit educational organization with a long history of education of farmers and stockbreeders, which ensures the connection of theory with practice.
