The primary mission of the Board of Directors is to design the Group’s strategy and ensure its smooth operation in accordance with its Code of Business Ethics and with the aim of creating value for all stakeholders. As of August 2023, following the merger of Vivartia with Venetiko Holdings, the Vivartia Board of Directors consists of eight members, four of whom are executive members.
Panagiotis Throuvalas
The Group Executive Chairman joined Vivartia in 2015. From 2015 to 2021 he was CEO of Vivartia Group and from 2021 onwards he is Executive Chairman of the Group.
He has an extensive experience for more than 30 years in the fields of Finance and Investment served as CFO, CEO and Member of the Board in Groups as Theocharakis Group (one of the largest Commercial Group in Greece ), Hyatt Regency Greece (Hotel and Leisure), Minetta S.A. (Insurance Co. ), Metropolitan Hospital and Marfin Investment Group (Equity Fund) with a leading role in many Restructuring projects, Refinancing plans and M&As activities. He holds an MA in Economics from the UofM Canada and a BA in Economics from the University of Athens. He was awarded scholarships from both the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and the Canadian Government.

Athanasios Papanikolaou
The Group CEO joined Vivartia in 2001. Since April 2021 (after the acquisition of Vivartia by CVC) he is the CEO of VIVARTIA Group, the biggest Group in the Food Sector in Greece. He previously spent five years as CEO of MIG Group (2016-2021), one of the largest Investment Groups in Southeast Europe. He is an experienced manager that specializes in the management of large organizations, having served in the positions of Managing Director and General Manager for major companies in Greece.
He holds an MSc in International Management from the University of INSEAD in France and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Marketing from the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE).

Alex Fotakidis
Alex Fotakidis is a Partner at CVC and Head of Greece. He is based in Athens and responsible for all of CVC’s investment activities in Greece. Alex has been working at CVC for more than 18 years and previously spent 5 years at CIBC World Markets. He holds an MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and a BSc in Economics and Geography, both from University College London.
CVC was established in 1981 and has become a leading global alternative investment manager focused on private equity, secondaries, infrastructure and credit with a global network of 29 local offices and €186 billion of assets under management.
CVC is one of the most active institutional investors in Greece, having deployed ~€1.5bn of equity since 2017 across various sectors. Today, CVC has 7 portfolio companies in Greece: Hellenic Healthcare Group, D-Marin, Skroutz, Vivartia (including Dodoni), Ethniki Insurance and PPC.

Alex Fotakidis
Kostis Rokas
Kostis Rokas is a Managing Director at CVC and is based in Athens. Kostis has over 15 years of professional experience primarily in private equity as well as investment banking and strategic advisory. He is responsible for sourcing opportunities, monitoring investments and supporting management to build better businesses with sustainable growth plans.
Kostis has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University where he graduated magna cum laude and a Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Nikolas Seretis
Nikolas Seretis is an Investment Director at CVC and is based in Athens. Nikolas has over 10 years of professional experience in private equity and investment banking. Prior to joining CVC, he was at Goldman Sachs since 2014.
Nikolas holds an MEng in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from City, University of London.

Spyros Papagiannis
Group Chief Financial Officer, joined the Vivartia Group in 2011.
Before this, he spent fifteen years at Alpha Bank in senior positions, having worked among others in Structured & Syndicated Finance, Private Banking and Retail Banking. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Piraeus, as well as a BSc in Economics, from the National and Kapodistrian University.

Spyros Papagiannis
Tassos Kyprianidis
Advisor, joined Vivartia in 2015. Tassos is member of the BoD and Head of the Internal Audit Committee.
He previously was BoD member and CEO of Hygeia Hospital and a long time Partner of the Greek Consultancy Planet working in major private and public sector projects. Tassos holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics and an MSc in Electrical Engineering both from the German University RWTH Aachen.

Tassos Kyprianidis
Dimitra Katsidonioti
Dimitra joined Vivartia Group in 2008 and serves as the Head of Planning & Reporting. She is also a member of the Group’s BoD.
She previously spent five years at PwC Greece, working in the Audit and Assurance team.
Dimitra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Irene Aspioti
Corporate Development Director, joined the Vivartia Group in 2021.
Before this, she spent three years at Deloitte Greece’s M&A Transaction Services division, leading multiple Financial Due Diligence projects across various sectors. She also worked at PwC Germany as an advisor in the Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory Services division. She holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance, as well as a BSc in Economics, both from the University of Macedonia.

Dimitra Katsidonioti
Dimitra joined Vivartia Group in 2008 and serves as the Head of Planning & Reporting. She is also a member of the Group’s BoD.

Legal Counsel of Vivartia Group, joined Vivartia in 2023. Prior to joining Vivartia, she was at KLC Law Firm since 2011.
Theoni holds an LL.M. from the University of Strasbourg, an M.A. from Goldsmiths, University of London, an LL.B. from Democritus University of Thrace and a B.A. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Director, joined Vivartia in 2006.
She previously spent four years at DELTA DAIRY and DELTA HOLDING, working in the HR Division, as Head of Personnel Development and Evaluation Systems and later on as Compensations & Benefits Supervisor and in Corporate Communications Division as Press & Public Relations Director. Panagiota holds an MBA and a BA(Hons) in Business Studies, both from North London University.
