BARBA STATHIS, steadfast in its commitment to protecting the environment from the impacts of climate change, has received official validation for its short-term targets concerning the reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the global initiative “Science Based Targets” (SBTi).
The SBTi initiative is a global movement that encourages companies to take action against climate change by setting science-based targets aligned with the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. Specifically, BARBA STATHIS’s targets include reducing carbon dioxide emissions across all areas of activity (Scope 1, 2, and 3) with a completion horizon by 2030. In particular, the company publicly commits to eliminating both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions and aims to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 by 42% for Scopes 1 & 2, at least 25% for Scope 3, and at least 30% for FLAG emissions within Scope 3.
BARBA STATHIS CEO, Mr. Nikitas Pothoulakis, stated: “At BARBA STATHIS, respect for the environment is a fundamental value that has underpinned the company’s operations since its inception. We continue working together to achieve these specific targets, and everyone’s contribution is especially important.”
The validation of the company’s targets by this organization confirms BARBA STATHIS’s strong commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and continuous modernization.
