The history of Daniel S. Gatenio & Son S.A. dates back nearly a century to Thessaloniki, initially focusing on the trade of sugar and coffee. After World War II, the company moved to Athens, expanding its activities to milk and cocoa for the industrial market. Over time, it continued to grow, adding consumer products such as evaporated milk, powdered milk (Regilait), and more. It later entered the cheese market, introducing Regato from Northern Ireland and a wide variety of cheeses from Western Europe, primarily Germany.

In the 1980s, capitalizing on the rapid development of retail trade, the company began developing and marketing private-label products. Today, it continues to import and trade dairy and cheese products, collaborate with almost all industries in the sector, operate in retail, and expand into neighboring Balkan countries.
